Asociación entre cambios dinámicos del segmento ST y variables clínicas de riesgo en el síndrome de Brugada Association between dynamic ST-segment changes and clinical risk factors in Brugada syndrome

2006
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the value of 12 lead ECG Holter monitoring during usual daily life to assess spontaneous changes of ST-segment elevation and its relation with clinical profile in Brugada syndrome. Methods: 21 patients and 25 non-affected first degree relatives were included. A 24-hour digital Holter ECG with 12 leads was recorded during daily life. Beat to beat ST level at 40, 60 and 80 ms after J point was analyzed. Episodes of spontaneous augmentation of ST level (ST episodes) were assessed. Results: ST-segment level at 60 ms after J point showed the highest predicted value to assess transient changes of STsegment elevation. 60% of patients showed transient episodes of absolute ST augmentation. Transient elevation of STsegment was related to patients with abnormal ST at baseline.
