Adhäsionsmoleküle bei Alopecia areata

2000
The cause of alopecia areata is not known, but it is suspected to be an autoimmune disease. Some authors refer to a cascade of immunological events and an abnormal expression of various adhesion molecules mediated by T-lymphocytes. Scalp biopsies were examined from 20 patients with alopecia areata. An increased expression of CD54 was found on peribulbar lymphocytes and capillary endothelial cells. The bulbar keratinocytes showed IFN-gamma positivity and the endothelial cells of perifollicular capillaries showed an increased CD106 positivity.
