Skin Tests and Radioimmunological Assays

1993
Any symptoms of an asthmatic nature must be analyzed from the allergological viewpoint with the aim of evaluating the possible etiological role of an atopic component in asthma. Furthermore, since asthma is most often characterized by a multifactorial pathogenesis, it is also important to determine the exact role of the allergic phenomenon in each patient in order to choose an optimal preventive and therapeutic strategy. Allergy skin tests therefore represent one of the first investigations which the asthmatic patient must undergo.
