Implementação da Terapia Trombolítica no Hospital São Lucas da PUCRS e no Hospital Mãe de Deus em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul

SUMMARY Stroke is the major cause of cognitive and physical disabilities in our country. The use of trombolitic therapy with rt-PA in the accute phase increase significantly the odds of a full recovery. The hospitals that treat accute stroke patients should be preapered to use this therapy. This article shows the sequence, operacional model and some results regarding the rt-PA protocol implantation in two referential hospitals in Porto Alegre – RS, Brazil.
