Synthesis and Property of Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate

In the presence of isethionic acid catalyst,synthesis of sodium cocoyl isethionate(SCI) from coconut acid and sodium isethionate was discussed.The influence of material molar ratio,reaction temperature and reaction time reaction was discussed by orthogonal experiment.The optimum reaction conditions is n(coconut acid)∶n(sodium isethionate)=1.2∶1,reaction temperature 155 ℃ and reaction time 3 h.The product is white powder,the content of SCI in the product is 60%.The product was identified by infrared spectroscopy,the carbon chain distribution of product was determined by gas chromatography purity.The experimental results show that the surface tension of the product is 33.71 mN/m,and the critical micelle concentration is 2.37×10-3 mol/L,the foam force of the product is 173 mm at ambient temperature.
