Purpose Hyperbilirubinemia is a common cause of newborn readmissions. Few studies have explored risk factors for readmissions due to hyperbilirubinemia in a racially and ethnically diverse population. The purpose of this study was to describe risk factors associated with hospital readmissions due to hyperbilirubinemia and to elaborate upon racial and ethnic identities potentially associated with hyperbilirubinemia.
