Status and Requirement of Health Education Among Citizen in Public Health Emergencies,Impact Factors and Countermeasures Study

OBJECTIVE To investigate the urban people' s need for health information during SARS period and impact factors.METHODS An questionnaire survey was conducted among urban residents in Harbin,Beijing and Taiyuan,and made individual indepth interview with the leaders of hospitals and directors in relevant sections.RESULTS During SARS epidemic,the three most popular channels for acquiring health information are as followings:television lectures by experts(80.7%),newspaper columnist remark(57.1%),radio(31.0%).People prefer to three mass media channels to access health information.Educational level and income are negative related to the satisfaction of people on health education.CONCLUSIONS To establish and improve communication mode of health education and health promotion.Professional organizations should pay close attention to the audience's choice of information,demand-oriented.Enhance psychological crisis support to the people.
