Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting over 29 million people in the United States requiring the integration of complex medical tasks into a person’s daily life. Recently, many healthcare systems have placed increased emphasis on providing patient-centered care (PCC). Compassionate care has been shown to increase engagement, bonding, and social connection resulting in increased patient comfortability with sharing feelings, concerns, desire to participate in care. The purpose of this research is to examine provider attributes that influence Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) diabetes adherence.
