Cancer Register in Trieste: Data Acquisition

The Province of Trieste has some special geographical and health service features which make it possible to carry out a relatively complete, systematic and anatomo-pathological registration of malignant tumours (registration of cytological and histological examinations and autopsies positive for malignant tumours). The Province occupies a small area, clearly defined, and all the hospitals are served by a single Institute of Pathological Anatomy.
