The influence of mobile terminal-based informational health education model on post-traumatic growth in fracture patients

2018
Objective To explore the influence of mobile terminal-based informational health education model on post-traumatic growth in fracture patients. Methods Totally 82 fracture patients who were admitted in the Chinese PLA General Hospital from June to November 2016 were selected and randomized into a treatment group (n=42) and a control group (n=40) . Patients in the control group received conventional health education and gave feedbacks, while patients in the treatment group received informational nursing intervention based on mobile terminal using the orthopedic patient management platform. The Post-traumatic Growth Index (PTGI) was compared between the two groups. Results The PTGI scores of patients in the treatment group were (61.00±5.19) before intervention and (80.20±6.97) post intervention; while the PTGI scores of the patients in the control group were (58.80±5.96) and (61.77±7.60) respectively before and after intervention. There was no significant difference in the PTGI scores before intervention (P>0.05) , while there was significant difference after intervention (P<0.05) . Conclusions Mobile terminal-based informational health education for trauma patients during the perioperative period, combined with PTGI scale can guide the patients to have positive psychological experience, improve the patients' post-traumatic growth, shorten the time of rehabilitation health, and improve the working efficiency of nurses.
