Fatal thioridazine cardiotoxicity.

1979
A case of fatal cardiotoxicity after a deliberate ingestion of 5000 mg thioridazine (Melleril) is reported. The serum thioridazine level is documented for the first time at the time of arrhythmia. Correct treatment of similar cases should often include insertion of a transvenous pacing wire, as the arrhythmias are generally resistant to drug therapy. Language: en
