The clinical significance of HbA_1c in patients with acute myocardial infarction

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of HbA_1c in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) to predict the probability of diabetes mellitus and the prognosis of the patient. Methods We detected the plasma levels of HbA_1c,myocardial enzymes,electrocardiogram and plasma lipid.Results The levels of HbA_1c were evaluated in a number of patients with AMI.Conclusions The determination of HbA_1c in patients with the combined AMI and fasting hyperglycemia has an important significance for distinguishing stress hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus.
