1991
: Knowledge of the specific reaction pattern of the developing organ system on surgical interventions is essential for the management of surgical problems in infants and children. The pediatrician is able to give an essential contribution to the treatment of the infant with congenital anomalies, underlying illnesses interfering with surgery, total parenteral nutrition and perioperative fluid therapy.
