Abordagem da fibrilação atrial na emergência: controle do ritmo ou da frequência? Approach of atrial fibrillation in the emergency department: rate or rhythm control?

2013
Atrial fibrillation is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activity and contraction. Clinically, it is related to increased stroke and cardiovascular mortality. It is often responsible for taking to the emergency department patients whose management is based on the direct control of arrhythmia and the prevention of thromboembolic events. However, there is controversy in the choice of rhythm control or heart rate control for the treatment of atrial fibrillation in the emergency department.
