Thoracic Imaging in COVID-19 pneumonia

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an ongoing global pandemic caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS- CoV-2). It predominantly affects the respiratory system. Thoracic imaging findings of COVID-19 pneumonia are non-specific. However, imaging has a significant role in disease identification and severity estimation. This article describes the role of different imaging modalities, imaging features of COVID-19 pneumonia and a brief overview of future directions of thoracic imaging to modify its role in disease management.
