Expression of IRF1 mRNA in peripherl blood mononuclear cells of uveitis

Objective To investigate the expression of IRF1 mRNA of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs) in patients with Uveitis.Methods Peripheral blood was collected from 42 uveitis patients(group A) and 30 healthy individuals(group B).The PBMCs were isolated by Ficoll-Hypaque centrifugation method.The mRNA of IRF1 was determined by RT-PCR.Interferon-γ(IFN-γ) levels in the supernatant were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results IRF1 mRNA and IFN-γ were significantly upregulated in group A compared to group B(P0.01).Positive correlations were found between the level of IRF1 mRNA and IFN-γ in groups A(r= 0.56,P0.01).Conclusion Overdifferentiation of Th1 cell may be related with expression of IRF1 in uveitis.
