İNTERSTİSYEL SİSTİTİN PATOGENEZİ ÜZERİNE HİSTOKİMYASAL VE İMMUNHİSTOKİMYASAL BİR ÇALIŞMA

1998
Interstitial cystitis is a chronic inflamatuar bladder disorder of unknown etiology. This disorder includes complex clinical voiding symptoms and cystoscopic findings. Interstitial cystitis is a clinicopathologic diagnosis. Histopathologically there are two forms of interstitial cystitis as q ulcerated q andqnon-ulceratedq type. Objective of this study is to investigate the pathogenesis, clinical and pathological diagnostic criteria and the main differences of two subtypes of this disorder . For this purpose cystoscopic biopsies or TUR materials of 10 cases diagnosed as interstitial cystitis clinically and pathologically were evaluated by histochemical and immunhistochemical methods with their clinical findings. Plasma cells were observed more intensively in ulcerated than non-ulcerated forms ( pl0.05). No differences were detected between two forms in terms of mast cells, T and B cell counts ( pg0.05). This may show that evaluation of both pathological and clinical findings leads to the diagnosis of interstitial cystitis . Observation oflncreased number of T cells and plasma cells n our cases and ncreased mast cells n some cases, when the result of the other studies are also considered, may show that immunological mechanisms plays a role in the pathogenesis of interstitial cystitis. Key words: Bladder, interstitial cystitis, pathogenesis, histopathology.
