Development, Deployment and Improvement of Miniaturized in Situ Bio/Biochemical Analysis Systems Towards Multi-Modal Ocean Sensing

Miniaturized systems for in situ bio/biochemical analysis for modern oceanography have been developed and evaluated by utilizing cutting-edge technologies including microfluidic technology. As an effort of further miniaturization, development of advanced photodetection technology and a novel power-free pumping system are carried out. Here, some present and future miniaturized in situ analysis systems for in situ microbiology are introduced and key issues towards multi-modal ocean sensing is discussed.
