Pregnancy complicated by chronic renal disease.

Although the management of pregnancies complicated by renal disease historically has been perceived as fraught with danger, recent studies have been more optimistic. These pregnancies clearly are more complicated and pose greater risks than normal pregnancy, but these risks are not as great as once thought. The recent data with regard to risks are reviewed. Additionally, special cases of particular renal diseases and management are discussed.
