The state of the immune system in women who gave birth to babies with cleft lip and palate

In the Screening Center of Bukhara 345 pregnant women were surveyed. Of the 345 surveyed, 314 women had full-term pregnancy and live births. In 10 women intrauterine fetal death occurred in the period of 24–26 weeks, and in 21 women spontaneous miscarriage occurred in the period of 26–28 weeks of preg nancy. In 219 of 314 pregnant women babies were born without defects, in 95 — children had a variety of intrauterine malformations. The most frequent anomalies were: Down syndrome (15), congenital heart disease (14), the deformation of the hip joint (17), cleft lip and palate (18), polydactyly (19). Women who have given birth to babies with cleft lip and palate, had hormonal and immunological abnormalities compared with women who gave birth to children without pathology.
