The Relationship of Maternal Age and Parity with the Incidence of Jaundice Neonatorum in Kediri District Hospital

Jaundice is a clinical condition neonatorum in infants with jaundice is characterized by staining the skin and sklera caused by excessive accumulation of unconjugated bilirubin. Jaundice in some babies can be physiologically  and  in part may be pathological disorders that can cause living or death. Research purposes is to know the relationship of maternal age and parity with the incidence of jaundice neonatorum in Kediri District Hospital. Design research is retrospective cohort approach with correlation. Sample research as much as 54 respondents using simple random  sampling. Data collection with the medical record in March 2017. Data analysis using Chi-Square (α = 0.05). Test results obtained there is a relationship between the maternal age (p = 0.041; 95% CI 4.463 POR 1,229-17,540) and there is no relationship between the maternal parity (p = 0,084; POR = 0,204 95% CI 0,040-1,031) and the incidence of jaundice neonatorum in Kediri District Hospital.  The lack of a relationship with maternal parity occurrences jaundice neonatorum due to the possibility of other factors more influential, however the POR value of 0.204 95% CI 0.040-1.031 that shows mother with grandemultipara had a risk of  0.204 times the baby suffered pathological jaundice than mothers who are not grandemultipara
