Investigate and Compare the Effect of Eight Weeks Resistance and Endurance Training with Vitamin D Supplementation on Some Serum Angiogenesis Indices in Obese Hypertensive Middle- Aged Men

2018
The purpose of this study was investigate and compare the effect of eight weeks resistance and endurance training with vitamin D3 supplementation on some serum angiogenesis indices in obese hypertensive middle- aged men. Sixty three obese hypertensive middle-aged men (age= 39.85±2.8 years and BMI= 31.6±1.4 kg/m2) volunteered to participate in this study and were randomly divided into six groups of resistance training with vitamin D (R+D, n=11), resistance training with placebo (R+P, n=12), endurance training with vitamin D (E+D, n=9), endurance training with placebo (E+P, n=11), vitamin D (D, n=10) and control (C, n=10, no intervention). The training protocol consisted of endurance training with gradually increasing of duration and intensity and resistance training with 80% of the 1RM, 3 times a week for 8 weeks. The supplement groups consumed daily 3000 IU of vitamin D and the placebo groups ingested the same amount of maltodextrin. Fasting blood samples were measured before the start training protocol and 36 hour after last training sessions. In order for evaluation of programs in pretest and posttest (time effects), and to determine comparisons between groups (study of group’s effects), variance analysis with repeated measures has been used (interaction time × group). Changes from baseline were assessed using the paired sample t-test. Moreover, pre- post comparisons between groups were analyzed with one-way ANOVA variance analysis, in addition to Bonferroni follow-up test. Based the results of present study, in all intervention groups, a significant increase in the serum levels of NO and IL-4 and a significant decrease in IL-8 was observed between the pre- and post-intervention serum samples. In addition, VEGF serum was significantly increased only in the training groups. Also, Comparison between the effects of exercise training (resistance and endurance) methoods combined vith vitamin D on serum indices showed that there was in the VEGF serum significant differences in favor of the E+D group at the post-test. It can be concluded that, 8-weeks of exercise training (resistance and endurance) methoods combined vith vitamin D supplementatin can be to decrese of inflammation (increse of IL-4 and decrease of IL-8), increses of NO and angiogenesis (increse of VEGF), that the rate of progress was significantly higher in angiogenesis with endurance training with vitamin D.
