Effect of deformation temperature on the microstructure developed in commercial purity aluminum processed by equal channel angular extrusion

2004
Abstract Equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) was used to deform samples of commercial purity aluminum (AA1050) to a strain of ∼8. The effect of extrusion temperature on the deformation microstructures was investigated over the range of 298–523 K. Transmission electron microscopy was used to characterize quantitatively the microstructural parameters, including grain size, shape and boundary misorientation.
