Diagnosis of monogenic small-vessels disease - "real world" application of the consensus recommendation of the European Academy of Neurology.

We read with great interest the recent guidelines by Mancuso et al. concerning the diagnosis and treatment of monogenic small-vessel disease(1). These guidelines arise at a time of rapidly growing knowledge concerning the genetic causes of small vessel disease, which has caused a huge impact on the approach of this disorders by neurologists in everyday practice.
