Catalyst with palladium-containing carrier for selective catalytic hydrogenation of acetylene in hydrocarbon flow

1996
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palladium-contg. catalyst capable of hydrogenating even a small amt. of acetylene in hydrocarbon flow at a high selection rate without addition of carbon monoxide. SOLUTION: A silicon dioxide carrier is impregnated with a soln. contg. at least one kind of co-catalyst metals. The impregnated catalyst obtd. in such a manner is dried and is impregnated with a palladium-contg soln. and is dried and calcined, by which the catalyst with the carrier is produced. The catalyst with the carrier described above has 0.001 to 1wt.% palladium and 0.005 to 5wt.% at least one kind of the co-catalyst metals consisting of group 1 and group 2 of an element period system. The catalyst with the carrier which is mainly composed of the silicon dioxide and is suitable for the selective hydrogenation of acetylene in the hydrocarbon flow is thus obtd. COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
