OneCare Spiro: Mobile application for monitoring and pre-diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

OneCare Spiro is an innovative system for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) remote monitoring, preventing disease progression and patients' well-being decline. Developed in collaboration with Idealmed's Private Hospital (IPH), computes GOLD combined assessment by collecting spirometry values, symptomatology and respiratory crisis historic data with wireless medical devices. System's design took into account users as the elderly COPD patients with physical limitations and technology illiteracy. Proof of concept provided insights about system usability with patients' measured satisfaction of 6,65 in a seven-point Likert rating scale. OneCare Spiro revealed to be technically feasible with patients capable and willing to use the system.
