Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass in Morbidly Obese Patients ≥55 Years Old

2008
Background Advanced age is considered a relative contraindication to bariatric surgery at some institutions because of concerns about higher morbidity and less than optimal weight loss. The aim of our study was to evaluate the operative outcomes, length of stay, weight loss, and improvement of comorbidities in patients ≥55 years old who underwent laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) surgery in our institution.
