Analysis of high risk factors for newborn hearing loss

Objective: To discuss and analyze the high risk factors of newborn hearing loss and to provide the intervention measure.Methods: 7 548 newborn babies from June 2008 to July 2010 in the Department of Obstetrics of our hospital received the hearing screening.Clinical data of them with hearing loss were analyzed by case-control study and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results: 72 cases(0.95%) were found with hearing loss,six risk factors were finally entered the Logistic model,birth weight 1.5 kg,noise,the virus infection of mother pregnancy,severe HIE,fetal distress.Conclusion: Reducing the environmental noise of the pregnancy mother and newborn,strengthening perinatal healthcare education,better perinatal examination and monitoring fetus,improving the technology of neonatal asphyxia recovery,are of great value to prevent newborn hearing loss.
