Cociente PaO2/FiO2 o índice de Kirby: determinación y uso en población pediátrica

Hypoxemia is a consequence of many diseases and it is imperative that the physician has the necessary tools to evaluate it. Kirby index or PaO 2 /FiO 2 is a ratio which indirectly measures the lung injury in the pediatric stage its proven application is as a predictor of mortality. The entities that manifest with acute respiratory distress syndrome benefit from this formula.
