Mycobacterium abscessus and Lung Transplantation: An International Survey

Most don’t obtain followup samples (54%); but 52% continue treatment if repeat is positive. 86% obtain followup PFTs 2-4 weeks (59%) post diagnosis. Conclusion: Most report concern for allograft outcomes post PMVI and use PCR-based diagnostics. Management is heterogeneous but most use ribavirin-based therapy especially for RSV. Further studies using different regimens are needed.
