Macrosclerotherapy for Patients with Severe Chronic Venous Insufficiency

Sclerotherapy of severe varicose disease has been discussed but is not fully recognized in many countries, even if it has been successfully used for years in Europe, South America, and more recently, in the USA. The reason for this is the lack of controlled studies leading to a suspicion of poor immediate results and fast recurrences. Potential risks of the method, wich do exist, may also have been overestimated.
