Roles of nutraceutical in the treatment of tuberculosis

Abstract In the present times, tuberculosis has become one of the most difficult diseases to control considering that it is among the top 10 most infectious diseases in the world. Despite advancements in this disease management and control, it is still a leading cause of death in many countries with highest mortality ratios in Asia and Africa. In this chapter, we provided a brief overview of tuberculosis and potential applications of nutraceuticals in the management of this disease. Emphasis was also made on the potential use of medicinal plants and phytochemicals against tuberculosis.
