Nanoscale interface techniques for standardized integration

2020
Abstract This chapter is focused on the nanoscale interface techniques for standardized integration of nanodevices, specifically for nanosensors. It affords an introduction to nano things, nanotechnologies, and known fabrication techniques. The issues related to sensor fabrication, interface techniques, and controlled integration are highlighted and discussed for nanodevice development. These issues were set forth by the various initiatives, such as the National Nanotechnology Initiative of America as well as the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors. Various examples of standardized integration techniques, including microelectromechanical and nanoelectromechanical systems, are given, while the packaging of nanodevices is mentioned. The smart transducer interface standards introduced by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Instrumentation and Measurement Society’s Sensor Technology Technical Committee are also mentioned.
