Finite Element Analysis of Bearing Capacity of Underlying Cavity

Aiming at the deficiency of the calculation method of bearing capacity of underground cavity foundation, this paper studies this problem by using the finite element method of upper limit analysis. First, we analyze the theory of upper limit finite element and its mechanics principle. Then, in view of the failure mode of karst tunnel foundation, the upper limit bearing capacity solution of the foundation under various conditions is calculated by using the upper limit finite element method. Finally, the ultimate bearing capacity and energy dissipation diagram of the foundation with the cavity are calculated by the finite element method, and the stability of various types of caverns under the action of load is analyzed. The results show that the scheme can reflect the process of deformation and failure of the actual foundation, and it has better comprehensive performance compared with the similar approaches.
