SUMMARY The evolution of 5 cases of SLE is presented. Allof them had serial determinations of C3, Igs, and antinu-clear factor. The close observation of these parametersmainly C3, allowed a frecuent ajusment of the requireddosis of corticosteroids.This tipe of clinical and laboratory evaluation hasmade it possible to detect several new cases in an earlystage of the diseases.
