Expression and significance of stathmin and peptidyl prolyl cistrans isomerase in non-small cell lung carcinoma

2014
Objective To investigate the expression of stathmin and peptidyl prolyl cistrans isomerase (Pin1) in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC),and their relation to the clinicopathological features. Methods Envision immunohistochemical method was used to assess the expression of stathmin and Pin1 in 76 cases of human NSCLC tissues and non-cancerous adjacent lung tissues. Results The expression rate of stathmin was 65.79% (50/76) in NSCLC tissues, and 34.21% (26/76) in non-cancerous adjacent lung tissues (P < 0.01).The expression levels of stathmin were related with histology grade,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC (P < 0.05).The expression rate of Pin1 was 84.21% (64/76) in NSCLC tissues, and 27.63% (21/76) in non-cancerous adjacent lung tissues (P < 0.01).There was a close relation between the expression of Pin1 and TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).Conclusion Stathmin and Pin1 have important roles in the pathogenesis of NSCLC.
