Histopathological Study of Malignant Breast Lesions with Special Reference to Rare Tumors

2015
Understanding the anatomy of the vascular variations of kidney is essential for the clinician to perform procedures such as renal transplantation, interventional radiological procedures and renal vascular operations more safely and efficiently. In order to facilitate the clinical approaches, we studied renal arterial pattern in 60 formalin-fixed cadavers, on 120 kidneys. We observed multiple renal arteries in 38 (31.66%) cases. Additional artery was found entering the kidney through superior pole in 14 (11.66%) cases, through haulm in 20 (16.66%) cases and through inferior pole in 4 (3.33%) cases. We also observed superior polar branch originating from renal artery in 3 (2.5%) cases. We believe that awareness of above mentioned variations of the renal arteries is necessary for adequate surgical management in exploration and treatment of renal trauma, renal transplantation and urological operations.
