Effects of peridopril on vascular inflammation and vascular endothelium function in patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension

2012
Objective:To explore the effects of peridopril on vascular inflammation and vascular endothelium function in mild-to-moderate essential hypertensive(EH) patients. Method:One hundred EH patients were randomly divided into peridopril group(n=50) and conventional group(n=50).Another 50 healthy people were enrolled as control group. The blood levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),fibrinogen C(FIB-C),endothelium 1(ET-1) and nitric oxide(NO) were measured on the next day after admission and 4 weeks after peridopril tablet treatment(4 mg qd),and we compared the tested indicators among the experimental groups. Result:Compared with control group, the blood levels of hs-CRP,FIB-C and ET-1 increased significantly, while NO decreased significantly in peridopril group and conventional group(all P0.01).After 4 weeks of treatment, all indicators in conventional group didn't change significantly, but the serum levels of hs-CRP,FIB-C and ET-1 decreased and NO increased significantly in peridopril group(all P0.01). Conclusion:Peridopril tablet inhibits the vascular inflammation and protects the vascular endothelium function, which probably plays an important role in prevention of thrombotic diseases in hypertension.
