In an increasingly diverse nation of Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and White individuals, health disparities among racial and ethnic groups are prevalent, pervasive, and persistent. Largely brought to attention in 1985 by the Secretary’s
