Systemic enzyme therapy in the treatment of acute thrombosis of superficial veins in the lower extremities and postthrombophlebitic disease

In this placebo-controlled study we present data showing the efficacy of systemic enzyme therapy (Wobenzym®) in patients suffering from acute thrombophlebitis of superficial veins (ATSV) in the lower extremities (119 patients) and postthrombophlebitic disease (PTD) of the lower extremities (32 patients treated by Phlogenzym® and 34 taking standard multicomponent therapy). In both cases, a more favorable clinical effect was demonstrated in patients treated with polyenzyme preparations.
