Abstract (Original): The new coronavirus pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) from December 2019 poses a serious and immediate threat to global public health The virus is highly infectious, which mainly through droplets and contact transmission with higher risk of pneumonia, and a small number of patients will appear acute respiratory distress syndrome with severe respiratory complications, or even lead to death Therefore, the selection of appropriate detection techniques and methods to make accurate and rapid identification of pathogens plays a key role in improving the diagnosis and treatment efficiency of diseases and curbing the outbreak of infectious diseases This review will give an overview of the virus laboratory detection technology, including virus isolation and culture, real- time fluorescent RT-PCR, gene sequencing, serological antibody detection, and the gene editing technology based on CRISPR/Cas13 system, which are expected to provide better reference and research ideas for clinicians and researchers
