Balloon valvuloplasty in a patient with critical aortic stenosis Abstract The prevalence of degenerative aortic stenosis predominates in individuals above 75 years old. The marker of severity is the onset of symptoms, there is no pharmacologic treatment that can reverse its natural history. As soon as symptoms appear, surgical replacement of the aortic valve is indicated.
