g-C3N4 nanosheet adorned with Ag3BiO3 as a perovskite: An effective photocatalyst for efficient visible-light photocatalytic processes

2021
Abstract Photocatalytic degradation was selected as an advanced and novel method for the degradation of dangerous organic contaminants from effluent. In this research work, the binary g-C3N4 nanosheet/Ag3BiO3 systems were constructed entirely through a simple approach and utilized to evaluate the elimination efficiency of various organic pollutants under visible light excitation for the first time. Physicochemical characterizations demonstrated that Ag3BiO3 nanoparticles deposited on the of g-C3N4 nanosheet. The Kobs values of g-C3N4 nanosheet/Ag3BiO3 (20%) for RhB, MG, MO and phenol were 52.5, 49.1, 49.0, and 32.7 times compared with that of single g-C3N4, respectively. The ultimate photoactivity and durability could be related to synergetic effects containing (1) highly impressive transfer and separation system of photo-generated charges from g-C3N4 nanosheet to Ag3BiO3; (2) boosted photoability was related to the increased absorption of visible irradiation due to the presence of small optical gap semiconductors. The active species discovering tests revealed that the •OH, h+ and •O2− played important roles in RhB elimination. Finally, a conceivable z-scheme mechanism for photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 nanosheet increased with Ag3BiO3 was offered according to the detailed analysis. This research paper presents an effective and alternative method for the elimination of organic pollutants in the effluent.
