Intestinal Cavernous Haemangioma and Ulcerative Colitis: Co-incidence or Association?

2015
We have read with interest the report of a patient with ulcerative colitis who had an intestinal cavernous haemangioma. Our patient was a 26-year-old female who presented with rectal bleeding and loose stools. All her blood investigations including inflammatory markers were normal. A procto-sigmoidoscopy done in clinic demonstrated proctitis and the histology was consistent with ulcerative colitis. A demarcation line of normal mucosa was present. She was started on mesalazine suppositories
