Multicentric epithelioidal hemangioendothelioma of bone: Diagnostic imaging

1999
Epithelioidal hemangioendothelioma of bone is a tumor with a low degree of malignancy originating in the vascular endothelium. The differential diagnosis of epithelioidal hemangioma and epithelioidal angiosarcoma as well as metastatic carcinoma is proposed. Although the final diagnosis is based fundamentally on anatomopathologic findings, methods involving the use of images are useful for locating and accurately delimiting the lesions and also for orienting a possible surgical approach. We show the contribution of the different techniques used to evaluate and diagnose a vertebral tumor of vascular origin that appears multicentrically.
