The nature of erosive and corrosive wear of the pipelines in the first power-generating unit at the South Ukrainian nuclear power station

An analysis of measurements of the thickness of the walls of pipelines in different systems of the secondary circuit of the first power-generating unit at the South Ukrainian nuclear power station is presented. Thickening, as well as thinning, of the pipeline walls was discovered, the former being the result of deposits of corrosion products on the walls. A conclusion is made that in determining the thickness of the walls by means of ultrasonic measurements, we record the total thickness of the metal and the deposits on it.
