Accelerating the translation of molecular fluorescence imaging

The translation of fluorescence molecular imaging is challenged by the “first-of-its-kind” drug (imaging agent) and device combination. Yet upon deploying principles of validation, standardization, and calibration, the translational process can be accelerated. Examples are highlighted.
