In Situ High Temperature Multinuclear NMR Study of Clinker Formation

1998
The clinkerization reaction of a model raw-mix containing both the main phases and mineralizers for the manufacture of Portland cement has been studied by static multinuclear high temperature NMR spectroscopy of 29Si, 27Al, 19F and 17O. The temperature of formation of the major clinker phases has been evidenced as well as the role of the minor reactive phases that include fluorine and aluminum.
