The clinical study on the relationship of immunity and levels of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-2 and immunoglobulin in serum and cerebrospinal fluid in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease

2002
Objective:To investigate the relationship of tumor necrosis factorα(TNFα),interleukin2(IL 2) and immunoglobulin(Ig) with acute cerebrovascular disease (ACVD).Methods:The concentrations of TNFα,IL2 and Ig were measured by radioimmunoassay in 80 patients in serum and 60 patients with ACVD in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF),and the results were compared with those in 30 healthy controls. Results:The levels of TNFα,IL2 and Ig in serum and CSF in these patients were significantly higher than those of the controls(all P 0 01),especially TNFα and IL2 in the CSF were more higher (all P 0 001).The severity of the disease were significantly relatived with the changes of TNFα,IL2 and Ig in serum and CSF in patients with ACVD ( P 0 01).The levels of TNFα,IL2 and Ig were recovered after treatments. Conclusions:An immunological response mediated by TNFα and IL2 is present in the pathogenesis of ACVD.Bloodbrain barrier function is injured in different extent in patients with ACVD.
