Expression of aquaporin 3 in placenta,membranes,and peritoneum of patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy

Aim:To detect the expression of aquaporin 3(AQP3)in placenta,membranes,and peritoneum in patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP).Methods:Placenta,membranes,and peritoneum from 20 healthy women(healthy pregnancy group)and 60 cases of HDCP patients including 20 cases of gestational hypertension,20 cases of mild preeclampsia and 20 cases of severe preeclampsia.The expression of AQP3 was detected by immunohistochemistry.Results:AQP3 expression in placenta and peritoneum in severe preeclampsia group was stronger than those of gestational hypertension and healthy pregnancy group(P0.05),while AQP3 expression in membranes in severe preeclampsia was milder than those of gestational hypertension and healthy pregnancy group(H=23.916,22.829,22.627,P0.05).Conclusion:AQP3 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and devebopmen of HDCP.
